To easily rename selected nodes. Especially when the new names are of a certain pattern.

Rename with #

It is expecting a string containing at least one “#”. The # will be replaced by an integer, starting from 1, according to selection order.

For example, if I typed “spine_#_jnt” as input to rename 4 joints selected. According to my selection order, the first selected joint would be renamed to “spine_1_jnt”; the second joint would be “spine_2_jnt”; the third “spine_3_jnt”, and the fourth “spine_4_jnt”.

Replace A with B

It is used to replace any string A with string B. It is the equivalent to Modify -> Search and Replace Names…

Prefix

It is used to add prefix to selected nodes. It is the equivalent to Modify -> Prefix Hierarchy Names…

Suffix

It is used to add suffix to selected nodes.
